Miami Dade and Broward counties in the state of Florida have required a 40-year re-certification on certain structures, and every 10 years thereafter, for quite some time. Now this re-certification requirement has been changed to every 30-years, 25-years if within 3 miles of a coastline, with follow-ups every 10 years thereafter. And by the end of 2024, it will pertain to certain structures within the entire state of Florida.
